See 4 years ago my girlfriend said "We should get a german shepard, specifically a white one because my grandma bred them and they are awesome dogs"

She failed to mention that grandma lived on a farm and the dogs were mostly outside.

CUE WHITE HAIR EVERYWHERE, ALL YEAR, ON EVERYTHING

The only solace i'm taking right now is yelling at Penn State that their mascot isn't even real.

I made a bad bad choice.

Mine does nothing but drool. All day. Every day. Everywhere. Thankfully his coat isn't that thick. My sister's dog is 100% mutt but we're decently sure that at least her coat came from a German Shepherd.

I've learned that I need to have multiple lint-rollers available: in the bathroom, car, bedroom, etc. Also, besides vacuuming all the time and brushing, it helps to choose clothes that match the pup's hair. If you can't beat em', join em' (kinda).

Yeah, after she finished growing I think "shave german shepards" was a google search of mine. Disappointed with the results. Also, if the groomers tell you they can do something called a deshed that helps they are filthy liars

The new couch is light colored lolol, unfortunately my floors are all dark, but when the roomba works it's not too bad to keep up thankfully.

GOOD TO KNOW!! I wanted to try the deshedding but they want over $100 to do it because of his size.

I love him, it's worth it, I still wish I could shave him.

I love her too but damn that hair. We did the deshed option, it was expensive, it made no difference D:

As I was writing this post she went to drink from the cats bowl again, and after I yelled at her the beagle did it. I think I just need to change the bowls or something, they think the cats taste better lol

I have one dog like that. Got lucky the other 3 don't shed too much. Bought a really good Miele vacuum after that one guy on reddit said they were pretty good. The turbo brush for furniture is a life saver. I use that on the couches and have had pretty good success. I trained all my dogs to stay off the couches though. Beds are different story, gotta change the sheets weekly and vacuum heavily. My ex-wife liked having them on the bed when I wasn't there. Didn't have the heart to take that away from them, plus I like having my oldest dog near by in case he needs to go out. Put a dog blanket on the bottom half and they seem to have gotten the message to stay there, so I can wash it every week.

The dog beds are something I just decided that I throw out and buy brand new. I have two really big beds they share and alternate buying a new one every three months.

Oh! I forgot. We have something called the "furbinator" (or something like that). It works wonders at "de-shedding". They used to cost like $50 bucks for the larger ones, but the price has dropped considerably over the years.

Apparently they make pet hair vacuums for dealing with shedding. I'm not sure how effective they actually are. Also I've posted my dog already before, so here's one of my sister's dog: https://i.imgur.com/62PvCPB.png

Better than an undercoat rake? I've heard from some a defurminator can actually cause more shedding so I'm too afraid to try one.

I hadn't heard of the rake thing, the furminator does help tho, when I consistently do it a few times a week I notice less tumbleweeds of hair.

(I googled it, it's the furminator not defurminator I was confused)

We use the furminator system. I get it done at the groomer and I have the tools. Cheyenne is a wolf/husky and it works for sure.
