10 has been out long enough. All the major bugs have been worked out in my opinion.

I tried 8 and 8.1, went back to 7 for a few years until 10 was out for a bit. Switched and i'm happy with it.

 

Maybe he wants to die and leave them unfinished (by the original author, atleast) like the author of the Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan did.

 

Find out if your laptop is officially supported first. I upgraded to windows 10 a while back, and it's got some good stuff and some bad stuff - but unfortunately my laptop wasn't "officially" supported - and there was a lot of overheating issues.

 

8 had some major improvements over 7, so I'm sure 10 is going to be a lot better than what you are using now, especially with how technology has changed over the years. You'll have to catch up eventually I guess. But as @dan said, you want to make sure your computer can support it first.

Or maybe you can dual boot? I've never done it before though so I'm not sure how it works.

 

I did something today that I never wanted to do again..I accepted and signed paper work for a customer service job.. . It is with a old company I worked for before (working solutions) it is at home and it is only 20 hours a week but I am nervous because many of their rules have changed. I need all the luck I can get with this one..

 

If he does, I nominate Joe Abercrombie to finish them, because he writes better dark fantasy books than GRRM.

If someone wants to refer me to some cool data entry jobs that allow 60 wpm that would be great. I really need to figure out how to type fast.

 

Unless you've got some weird legacy hardware hardware or software you rely on that requires an older version of Windows, W10 is basically just better.

The update from 8 => 8.1 reset some of my drivers and settings, but I personally had no issues with the update from 8.1 => 10.

I think the free update window (no pun intended) expired at the end of last year, though. So that's a consideration. I can't say how much I'd pay for the features, but I took them for free in a heartbeat.

 

Hey, I know you're wicked busy, so I hate to even tell you...but I have that memory leak still. Took a two hour nap after I "fixed" it and woke up to CPU spikes and same memory usage. Maybe I should try a clean install of Chrome? It must be something on my end if no one else is experiencing it, who knows what.
