Yeah that same brand in the ginger is the one I like. Idk about soapy taste, but to me it doesn't even taste like ginger (at least like ginger ale lol).

Do NOT try to fruit/synergy??/rainbow colored one of that brand.. holy jesus its TERRIBLE. Green is pretty good though.

tried and Polar Bear grew/brew/made it at our home, but try plain yogurt. I was a big fan of fruit yogurts but now the plain one is awesome with every meal especially with meat.

Below the spoiler is a massive Grinch fest/rant about Veterinary costs, just wanna vent:

    Lilly, our beagle:

    Back Story:

right around Christmas I came home from work from day to discover our beagle, severely limping. We figured she got hurt playing with the other bigger dogs, and arranged to see the vet the next day. They gave us some meds, and told us to come back in a week if it didn't clear up. The week passed, and if anything she now looked.... worse. Looks like some massive muscle atrophy occurred in the leg some how super quickly, and the limp was more pronounced. We went to a different vet and had her on some prednisone and tramadol for pain. It got better, but there was still a bit of a limp, so we went back and got xrays done.

Our vet thinks she has a calcified disc from the Xrays, and sends us off to see a neurologist. While we wait for that appointment (which occurred today) she has us do blood work to check for valley fever. Shit's getting pretty pricey and we still don't know for sure whats wrong and whats going to happen. A few days before our appt today I get a call from a different vet than the one we had just seen with some of the bloodwork back, asking me questions about her digestion and other symptoms because it looks like (from the bloodwork) that she is developing pancreatitis :flail:. We spend half a week worrying about this before we think "what about the prednisone". Yup, Prednisone can cause those levels to look high, so the vet that wasn't familiar with our case freaked me extra out for no reason.

Anyways moving on to today, this special vet, the neuro vet, sees us. She basically runs me for a loop the entire time, tacking on costs. More xrays need to be done, because the ones I already had aren't clear enough some fucking how. She tells me that any surgeon would insist on new xrays. FUCK that.

I'm getting close to a grand in the hole already for all this stuff, and for what? My dog has a possible genetic disease, or possible trauma disc injury. Nobody will tell me in plain english if there is a possibility of it clearing up on its own. If surgery is necessary, why the FUCK will all this cost me roughly $7,500 dollars for what the lady described as a simple surgery (if the disc is the problem).

Here is the estimate for the procedures to find out exactly what is wrong:

Here is the estimate for the procedure if she's right about the disc:

    GTFO.

Lilly, our lovely beagle is now on strict crate rest and prednisone for a little longer while we see if she gets any better (she has gotten better already from mild crate rest and prednisone/tramadol.) During this time we're going to find a vet who isn't going to fucking hoodwink us.

I'm a big fan of kefir and yogurt! The Birb likes probiotics to soothe her janky GI tract.

Welcome to the club my friend. You now have experienced what Matt and I refer to as "a bearnie," which is a unit of measurement we use to describe how much $$ we've spent on him. I'm sorry you're going through this, it is crazy how expensive the costs get and extremely frustrating when you just want to help your fuzzy friendo.

    Too late.

Girlfriend brought that home for me one time, thinking she was bringing me something I liked.

I like kombucha, but I did not like that.

FINE! I admit it! I am the Illuminati! My triangle nose with the eye in the center was just a clue, but sure enough like the majestic Nick Cage has done, you solved it.

I've been running a fever off and on, so occasionally I think the cat is on my keyboard. He is not. My brain fucking hates me right now.

I am sorry your dealing with this. :/
I went through something similar with my cat Chloe when she had a mega bad allergic reaction after her spay and ear mite treatment. Lots of run around and money spent and tears and stress.

You won't believe the amount of time I have been literally agonizing about how on one hand it's like let your pet suffer and die, and the other hand is ruin your family financially what the fuck.

I'm super mad right now. There's a vet university near me and I know they have like discounted clinics and stuff I'm going to look into them and other places because that is just ridiculous.
