They do it a lot. They always made us leave the high price too, for Bearnie. And then occasionally we get some money back...and then sometimes they bill us for more. I literally didn't have enough in my account once, by like 60 bucks (they wanted like 1800 off the bat) for Bearnie's emergency surgery, and Matt was on the phone with them like, "dude, here's my card to cover the rest," and they still waited for it to clear before touching him. Easily one of the most stressfull things I have ever experienced in my life.

It's a real shit show sometimes.

 

This is why they do it too. I had a dog get out on me one time the year out of college. Was my first like "my" dog. I went online and used some website to make up lost fliers, didn't think shit of it.

The very next day someone I didn't know called me - I was super excited when they asked if I had lost a dog LIKE HOLY SHIT THEY FOUND HER

No, it was someone from the website trying to sell me some service.

I have never in my life said more terrible, literally subhuman things to another living being than what I said to that man. What I said to him was literally so disgusting he lost his own shit and starting saying awful things to me in return LOL. I have no idea where half of it even came from, but my lizard brain took over and jesus did not have control of that wheel.

But fuck him I hope he gets hit by a fucking bus and gets testicular cancer, I will never forgive that man til the day I die. If there is a God, and he gives me a shot at repenting for it, he can blow me too.

Anyway, I feel you on the anger thing. Its exploitative in a way that is very weird and not OK.

 

I mean, it just tastes like yogurt. It's pretty tasty!

 

Put me off making it myself, I just keep paying the premium for someone else to make it for me haha.

I don't think Lilly is as bad as the Doctor was making it seem, and she did say it's not emergent and we have time to make a decision so we'll definitely be doing that, and not with them. I feel like we've been taking a bit advantage of so far but I'm stopping it now.

With ours, it usually is based on what ifs as well. Like, if something happens and they need to give extra medications or fluids or whatever, they charge up the butthole for that stuff too. They called once to ask if I would clear the extra kitty morphine Bearnie needed cause it would cost me like another 80 bucks and I've never yelled at someone faster to charge me, cause give my cat the damn pain meds please.
