what's with the garbage .02/.03 20 second recording RVD's?

 

At some point, I noticed that I always rooted for Patriots to lose simply because I was irritated by them winning all the time.

When I realized that being successful requires respecting other people who are successful (otherwise, you have subconscious motivation to "not become one of those successful people you feel so negatively about"), I stopped rooting against them. I actually really enjoyed their last playoff win and thought it was entertaining. The Seahawks one stung a bit, but it was a good game, too.

Honestly, though, I feel like Tom Brady just can't overcome a strong defensive line as long as there's extra attention paid to the check-down receivers. That's how the Patriots lost the two recent Super Bowls they've played against the Giants.

I was thinking the same thing. A few weeks, the HITs paid $.04 -- and the recordings were typically 5 seconds long.

 

I always do the good ones. Sure as hell won't be doing these $2 an hour ones.

 

After feeding it 25 samples of GIDs and discovering that there is, in fact, no hidden pattern to the character mask of GIDs (beyond the first character being a "3"), I was impressed by RegexMagic and bought it recently.



Now if I ever find a need for the ridiculously expensive PowerGrep...

I skipped through several of them -- most of the recordings are 20-25 seconds long. Which equals a buck an hour.

 

Yup... some of the RVD batches can be decent but these last few they've put up are crap. Waste of time, but they'll probably get done and they'll probably keep posting $2/hr batches now. Hopefully I'm wrong, cuz they can be some decent filler.

I first came across them a few weeks ago -- paid $.04 to listen to two recordings no longer than 10 secs. long. I'm wondering to myself, is it necessary to listen to a 30 second long audio sample to get a sense of its quality?

 

Based on the nature of the work I'd say yeah, because the idea is to grade a robot phrase's natural inflection/emphasis on certain syllables and words, which could change as the phrase goes on. Nevertheless, they should pay according to the avg speech sample times.
