I do think we should stop using them as the butt of so many jokes too. I know there are a bunch of people that post here that made the switch, but I often wonder how many of them lurk or came and left because they felt embarrassed about being made fun of as a group so much.

Yea the US is due another tour at this point. Then again damn near everyone comes through here, and AZ should be a decent tour stop for many performers.

    :emoji_thinking:

    Going for a bonus?

Really? I don't keep up-to-date on most metal bands anymore. Some of them I have given up on, even favorites like Dream Theater and Iron Maiden. Dream Theater incorporated some metal elements into their music, but over the years, they lost that "other" element which made them unique. Now they just want to be "heavy" rather than progressive with some heavy elements mixed in.

Awake is still one of my favorite albums.

This one still sends chills up my spine and live this song is amazing as the whole audience ends up getting into it as well.

I try to avoid non-music related stuff when it comes to my favorite artists. Most of them are assholes. Phil Anselmo is another one. Love Pantera and Down, but really Phil, just STFU when you're on stage. Plus, that whole thing where he screamed white power and gave a sieg heil was pretty dumb. I have hung out with the other guys from Pantera and they are all cool dudes. Phil was the only ash hole.

I never vibed with Dream Theater to be honest. Iron Maiden had a bad period but they're back and just as good as ever in my opinion. I just saw the last tour and the setlist had 7/11 songs in the main set from the new album and I was initially pissed off. Once I saw it though, I loved it.

Testament's last record just rips. It's nonsense. Everyone somehow got better.

    Phil dumb.

I MIGHT still see Scour though? I dunno. I'm thinking about it.

Dave pushed me away because he's the main reason the last Slayer tour isn't a Big Four tour from rumors.

I think Master of Puppets is the best metal album but this one of my top 5 favorite songs (metal or non-metal).

A lot of times, I put myself into third person, outsider mode, and usually when reddit/redditors come up I ask myself, "If I was visiting here from reddit, would this make me want to join?" and the answer is usually no, unfortunately. From our perspective, I understand our context. From their perspective, I can see how the banter/social media aspect is off-putting out of context if you jump in and see a page of gifs and irrelevant personal life chatter, but reading that redditors are idiots is what would make me feel very excluded. As someone who came (to MTG) from /r/hwtf, low-earning redditors have the lack of our resources, not the lack of potential.

Metallica is one of those bands where I always switch my favorite album of theirs between the first four. I still think And Justice is their best work from a technical perspective, but probably not my favorite outside of the first and last songs on the album. They really need to remaster that album with more bass guitar added in. The first album is probably my favorite. Still had all that influence from Dave.

Totally agree. Which makes it doubly great that you are here, because:

    A) You're awesome.
ii) You're a Laff's fan, which is more fun to poke at anyway.

Really REALLY love that album, especially when it came out, but I'm one of the few that loves Falling into Infinity that much more. I know the band hates it, but to me, it's the perfect blend of proggy and good songwriting, without being overly proggy because they "can."
