A while ago at my old department we would write whose names on a whiteboard for the positions (who was what position on said day) and one day I wiped out my name and wrote "a girl has no name"

came back later and my team lead had rewritten my name with a massive heart next to it.

I asked her about it and it turns out she thought someone was being mean to me XD (doesn't watch GOT, wth)

Hey building stuff on my own is how I didn't end up paying for some crazy expensive little, black walnut table that would just end up holding a lamp. She would have probably taken it in the divorce too, so that's like a double win.

I actually started teaching myself how to restore old furniture. I want to get good enough to restore some really valuable mid-century danish furniture that my grandma has. She was a set with 23 pieces, so I really want to grab it up. My bedroom set is that style so I gotta get the rest of the house going too. Right now I'm doing tiny stuff with minor wear or damage, like picture frames and nightstands. I eventually want to do the big stuff though. It's so tedious and requires way more focus and patience than I care to give anything currently. It is also a really good excuse to buy myself tools that I will only use about 5 times if I live to be 120 years old.

 

I was once helping a former boss set up his old dial up internet. He's at his home and I am in my office. I get to the point where I say he needs to use a phone line to plug into the computers modem. He proceeds to UNPLUG the phone he is using to talk to me. I just bust out laughing.

Took him about 5 minutes to figure out he disconnected himself from me.
