I think you and I are on the same page completely. I loved Donna (and my man Wilfred) and go back and forth with Tennant, but ultimately he's a "meh" for me. He has a lot of good episodes but I don't think he was written well, and the Rose love crap gets so old and I hate stupid Martha with the burning rage of a thousand suns. So, his regeneration is emotional, but with how up and down I feel about him and as much I love Smith, it's the definition of bittersweet... but just a little extra on the sweet side.
