the pins requester releases more jobs than they actually have work for, so what you're reading there is correct.

 

@Randomacts -- Yeah, I read it. But I was hoping there was some weird thing going on since it let me fill my queue with the HITs. No soup for me indeed.

@lefty -- Thanks. That makes sense now. I think I only worked Pins a few times a long time ago.

 

Yeah pins are weird, best to not panda and just work straight from the batch as fast as you can unfortunately

 

The way that they handle it is technically against mturk's TOS but it works I guess

 

Getting free samples and instruments is great, but the slog to sign up for them is a pain. Fruity Loops wanted my street address (which in this case, is 123 Any Street) for a user forum to get a Beta plugin! That one was worth it to run two separate VSTi drum units off the same MIDI channel.

Thanks for that tip. I will do that. I was excited by my queue...only to be crushed by defeat. Now I know how to work them so next time I'll fare better.

It is odd. That is why I was so confused. But...considering how much people seems to like them and all that...I don't think anyone is really complaining.

 

I think that it has something to do with the fact that they have their hits up on other crowdsourcing platforms as well

 

I personally don't do them because I have a really strange set up and by the time I can get to them they're usually gone, but some people like them because even if you can only do say , two at a time, that's a random .80 throughout your day as you work other tasks, and adds up over time.

That's pure speculation on my part, but if I were turking at home I'd probably do them as they popped up.

 

Makes sense. Don't they know that the folks here at TH are simply more deserving? LOL

They do go fast. I am at work as well (usually)--so I usually do not manage to grab any. Honestly I just caught 1 that worked today but it gave me an idea of what they are like.

 

You used to be able to multi tab them.

Now they tell you to go fuck yourself if you try.
