That's amazing! You guys are good parents! Matt and I agreed that if we have kids, we will put money aside for college, and make it contigent on getting decent grades and whatnot. My exes parents gave him money for school, but never asked anything of him, and he ended up on academic probation. I said no way in hell am I giving my kiddo money to flunk out of school. Matt wants his kids to go to private school too, but I'm still not totally convinced I love that idea. I suppose it really depends on the school district though. I'm guessing between the both of us, we hopefully wouldn't raise a kid who doesn't value their oppurtunities though.

I think it depends on the kids. My oldest is getting a double major in physics and astronomy with a minor in math. She is also on the swim team. She is about to graduate and has maintained a 4.0 the whole time. My youngest is a Sophomore and on the Dean's List. The only thing they pay for is their books.
