She told me to my face (and him) that I would be a bad mother and I’m clearly not ready and have a “rescue complex.” Matt told his mom if wanting to take in sickly or sad animals was a complex, he was glad I had it and based on my care for all the animals, he’s pretty sure I can keep a human alive. His mom was adamant it’s not remotely the same and in fact proves the opposite.

I mean, I love Bearnie, but he’s basically an 8 pound toddler with claws.

His mom wanted to move to the same town as his sister to mother her kids more (LOL) and she told her abolsutely not, you can visit. I think she would be super overbearing if we had kids because she’s worried my white trash heritage will ruin children and thinks I’m incompetent to even take care of her adult son, much less a tiny human.

Best part of this is that there’s a strong chance I end up being caretaker to her at a certain point. I’m literally the only one with enough patience to take care of either of his parents and his sister basically refuses outside of a nursing home. It’s not an issue yet, but she’s 74, and it’s certainly a possibility in the near future.
