yeah and in the military they'll do a BMI calculation using measurements. She still didn't pass unfortunately, but all the big muscley dudes had to do what they called the "tape test"

I was always so close to my maximum weight that I would do unhealthy things to get into that weight bracket, as did many of my peers. It's shitty all around.

 

Really? Don't think it was well known on here at all. I was on yesterday evening and it consisted of people hanging around and posting about what happened to the 6:30 swarm that was supposed to happen, but never showed up.

 

The inverse is true too though isn't it..? BMI underreports just how obese people actually are when they have a high BF%

I always hear people throw out the "lol but NFL athletes get reported as obese!" but never the other side of the coin

So, sorta but not quite, muscle and fat weigh the same (because a pound is always a pound) but a pound of fat takes up something like FOUR TIMES more space than a pound of muscle. That's why you can weigh the same, but be a diff size if you're muscular or trim vs not.
