03/26 - Make That Money Monday!

I've heard good things about all of them, don't just take my word or popular advertisements for Blue Buffalo! My first dog hated her original food and my second dog came with Blue Buffalo and the first dog took to that quickly, so that's the only reason I never had to branch out with other foods.

 

We have meal times, and holy shit I have 5 sets of eyes staring at me when they know I'm going to feed them.

i tried a bag of blue buffalo once for the german shepherd i mentioned before but it gave him liquid shits and was like $60 per 30 lb bag so we actually returned the opened bag to our very forgiving local pet store. YMMV.

I have a yellow lab... he's a sweetheart, but only to people he knows. If he doesn't know you, you better back the %*&# up! lol. He doesn't attack strangers, but he definitely isn't welcoming. He's been this way since a puppy, contrary to the common thought that labs are super friendly. He will eventually warm up to people that we have around though.

 

Keep in mind some vets do try and push certain foods. I went to a vet for Bearnie that had a bunch of adverts for a certain food all over her office that I did not want to feed him because there were some shitty ingredients, and she acted like he would straight die if I fed him something else. I asked a couple other vets, and they confirmed she was just pushing a brand she had a vested interest in because she carried it and its products in her office and it was in fact, not his best option. Ymmv obvs! But I've had that happen a few times over the years.

He does super duper well on what I have him on now, and he's a round tummied little jerk who loves eating.

Pew Pew, gimme all your money for wet food and steriods. PEW!

So does Tractor Supply! Love themmm. They also discount bags if they have even the smallest tears or holes. They also let me take Bearnie in on his leash. He enjoys his adoring fans.

 

Yeah, that sounds pretty unethical. I guess what I should have said was "Talk to an ethical vet you trust". My girlfriend is finishing up vet school and she actually took a class that discussed this in detail. There are a lot of companies that essentially lobby different offices and institutions to try and get their product recommended more. The machine is at work everywhere.

Mine pushed the shitty pedigree(Basically all filler grain). I just ordered him some buffalo Taste of the Wild since he recently had a buffalo edible nylabone and loved it(for the 10 minutes it lasted before he ate it all lol)
