    What is wrong with HDDs? If an update 'killed' his HDD it most likely was just his MBR dying.

    SSDs are more prone to sudden death anyways.

    I did backup. There were no recovery images or restore points. Couldn't even get into safe mode. It put my PC into a Dell splash screen boot loop.Fun Fun.

    hdd's should only really be storage, not for actually running programs off of.
