Depends on how many rooms you are painting, but that sounds like they are hosing you if it's not a lot of rooms. Was it for Benjamin Moore paint? They're usually the most expensive. But just get another quote or two. And try someone more like a handyman, that also does painting, you'll likely get a better price. And you've mentioned a girlfriend many times, have her physically go get the paint and hire someone to do the painting. Or a friend or family member. I wouldn't want most of the paint companies buying my paint for me anyways, they will surely be marking me up for that part or giving me a kind I don't want but that they use all the time. I have all low or non VOC up on my paint up now and am not interested in going back.

Yes, all important factors you didn't mention before. That's probably not that bad then, but you should get more quotes regardless to make sure you have an accurate picture of the cost and not one who is trying to find a sucker who will just pay whatever without seeing if that's the real going rate.

 

I am in there too though.

 

Valspar is like $20-30 a can, not $60 a can. So, definitely need another couple of quotes. And definitely know the brand of paint being used to see if there's a markup.
