As some of you may remember, I was buying a house a few months ago. Everything that could go wrong with that house did. The seller died. There was confusion as to who inherited it. The heir didn't know if they wanted to sell it. And then once it was finally coming together - the septic system failed 2 days before I was going to close. Needless to say - I got out of that contract.

So it was back to the drawing board. This time, with a mortgage instead of paying cash. Mortgage had some headaches and hoops I had to jump through due to being self-employed. But it all came together in the end - and this is my new backyard right on the water. I'm a homeowner now. Took 31 years, but I'm officially an adult.
