Why is "date" in quotes?

 

it's not quite a date but more of a "we haven't seen each other since we use to be makeout buddies like 15 years ago". So it's not a date, but more of a hangout I guess? i dunno, it's weird.

Do you have like a wine bar or a craft beer type place with the cute appetizers and nifty things on tap? I won't be caught dead in a loud dancy bar bar for date night but we go to the Growler Haus and have a flight and play competitive checkers and it's a good time. Also, WEAR A DRESSSSSSSS OR A BLOUSE. I mean, you don't have to , but nothing says smart and hot quite like something purty that is demonstrably not work clothes if you're going for the remember I'm super cute/hot/pretty/whateves look.

We have a sequoia brewery (local brew/bar/place) that I hear is nice. It's really close to my place too. I plan on just dressing kinda casual. Still dealing w/ the ex, (or whatever we're calling eachother) so i don't want him to think it's a date date.....which it isn't(?)

I was almost thinking yardhouse since they have good happy hour deals after 10pm......
