Personally I use http://www.house-mixes.com. They also have they're own Kodi app FTW.

 

Just don't click on any links inside that email!! (which you probably already know.) Sometimes those emails are the scam, to get you to "secure" your account and give up all your info.

 

I'd say if his actual Amazon and AMT accounts are wiped, it's safe to say it's legit, unfortunately.

I called Amazon. They confirmed that my email was changed an hour ago. My orders, Prime membership and all of my Mturk HIT numbers and the money in my payments account were all moved to the new email. The fraud team is currently investigating what happened and will be getting back to me in the next day. I'm currently changing all of my passwords right now and monitoring my credit cards.

My email account is now being spammed with stuff from various websites I've never heard of. I got a message from someone on Reddit claiming to have done it.

I think I'm going to be sick.

Oh man. I totally trust Amazon to get it taken care of. Their customer support has never let me down in the smallest matters, so I can imagine they spring into action for major things like this.

I can't believe someone would have the audacity to message you about it, wtf? People are scary as shit.

 

I'm so sorry this is happening! Hopefully amazon will resolve it quickly.

Ugh, so sorry to hear about that. I had a similar issue when I had an account with Adobe and they had a security breach several years ago. I hope Amazon is able to help you quickly. Best to remain as calm as you can (easier said than done, I know).

You actually prompted me to check my Amazon security settings myself. I realized I didn't have two-factor authentication turned on, so I went ahead and did that.

For anyone curious on how to do so, go to Amazon.com, make sure you're logged in, then mouse over "Your Account" in the upper right, then click "Your Account". Scroll down to the "Settings" box, click "Login & Security Settings" and click "Advanced Security Settings". It will walk you through on setting up security features to protect your account (SMS/Text message authentication and/or using an Authenticator app). After it walks you through it (just a couple of short steps), you're done.

Edit: Doing this one on Amazon.com covers all of their services that use your Amazon login for that account (Payments, mTurk, etc).

If you want to enable Two Factor Authentication on other websites (not all websites support it) you can check a list of supported sites here - https://twofactorauth.org/.

I broke $10k earned since I started turking last November. I was happy enough that I posted a pic of my earnings and my HITs submitted/approved/rejected on r/mturk, like people tend to do. I made sure my name, email, worker ID, etc weren't visible. It was purely those numbers. I got a bunch of questions and I spent most of last night answering them. I felt good.

And then someone replied to that this morning with "bet you aren't bragging now, huh?" and I got a pm from him saying he's free to answer any questions. I haven't replied to him, but I skimmed his reddit profile and saw that he only replies to r/amazon threads about account hacks and fraud with messages like "any updates?".I immediately deleted my post.

I'm scared and shaking right now. I contacted Amazon customer support. Do I need to contact Mturk as well? I can't find a number for them.

 

A funny [not really] coincidence, but today, I almost fell for a well crafted spear fishing attack. I'm the contact for a small association, and that email got an email from one of the members; perfect English with no errors, signed by the member, with a link to a pdf to "go over the changes". We've all been collaborating with Google Drive, and it was on Google Drive. Granted, I stopped at the "Log in to your ..." page, but still.

Those malcreants are just becoming more clever all the time. At least we've got Kayrad to fight fire with fire LOL!

But scary stuff anyway. Good luck, @Ganrokh. There's no number for Mechanical Turk, but it sounds like you've got it started with Amazon's fraud team.
