I feel your pain, those are the most horrible thing to deal with on mturk, for awhile there, some were getting them on every 12 or so hits, if nothing else they could at least set them to every 100-150 hits instead of 35 if thats the number they still use.

 

haha. I have a non 3d puzzle I can do. I guess...I guess I am going to be into puzzles now. XD

I really want this 4,700 piece castle but its $60 on ebay, srsly not bad tho, the Mont Saint-Michel was only 300. So, this one would be intense. O_O

Captchas are painful and annoying but you can lessen the pain using some clever tactics. Namely, a certain script that opens a HIT for you in a new window and closes it after you enter the captcha and a certain turkerhub HIT for clearing captchas

I'm unsure of why they don't increase based on number of HITs approved, i.e. every 5k approved gets a bump until 20k and then every 10k approved after that. Every 75 or so instead of every 35 would be something close to amazing.

 

I can't remember when captchas started but back then i didn't turk as much from '08 to '14 was casual turk for Amazon fun money. I just remember one day logging in and seeing a captcha for the first time tried to enter it kept being too slow and said eff this and logged out ...for months haha

Yup, I remember when they were introduced too. This is the good version of captcha surprisingly, they were a mess in the beginning. And back then at least, they did have a plan to increase the number of HITs in between captchas. I remember 20k being a number that was one of the bump ups, since the stated reason for adding them was making sure it was a person and after a certain amount of work over time, that's something they were comfortable with saying was the case, which is why those with Masters didn't get captchas (I assume that's still the case).

Edit: My own forum filter has betrayed me.

 

I briefly considered this to inflate my perfect score awhile back, then some simple math returned a price of $1000 over the course of 27 days for 100k approvals, and thats with you not earning a cent on anything else because you'd be capping your 3800 a day on that to get 100k over 27 days. Hell no to that

Mturk has a minimum commission of 1 cent per HIT
