I don't know why some of my posts keep posting twice...

 

I mean, I get it if you're from the south - it's like an identity thing. I think it's dumb, but I understand.

However, here in the suburbs of Chicago - definitely not southern by any means. Not a hillbillyish area at all. Occasionally people have them on their pickup trucks that their parents bought them or they were able to withdraw from their trust funds. Usually fedora-wearing neckbeards that are just dying for someone to debate them. It's dumb.

I'm from the South, and there's really no justification for it. People can get all caught up in whether it represents slavery or not, blah blah blah, but at the end of the day it was a rebellion and they lost. People don't celebrate Daniel Shays like they do the confederacy, but the simple fact is, both were rebellions that were squashed.

Yeah, that was more general social commentary than directed at Matt.
