    And then Brazil proceeded to import slaves from Africa until 1888. As a matter of fact North America only totaled something like 400k out of the 10 million exported. Why is no one ever talking trash about Brazil who accounted for over 4 million of the 10. (http://blog.yalebooks.com/2016/11/21/slave-trade-u-s-brazil-comparisons-connections/)

    Probably because most people from here are American and not Brazilian and are more familiar with the struggle for rights post-Civil War than whatever Brazil has cooking in their favelas.

    Use of the Confederate flag anywhere inherently excludes African Americans. It creates social spaces that African Americans can never be part of.

    I mean if people want to seriously point fingers, the African slave traders who profited off of this and were orchestrating the entire thing are probably more responsible than anyone, but it's really simple economics - there was always a demand, so they made sure there was a supply.

    the only thing I know about Brazil is they have a lot of undercover cops that shoot people, and the videos get put up on liveleak
