A kettle is even easier than a microwave for ramen imo. The only thing I use the microwave for is if I need to heat the meat up and I do that by itself. After the meat is heated up I add the raw egg and ramen noodles with the seasoning and pour the boiling water from the kettle into it.

I grow green onions and use them in noodle soups all the time. So easy, don't even have to cook them. Then just replant the ends and get more green onions in two weeks.

I also buy miso and use that for the broth. The one worth going to Whole Foods for is the miso if you don't have Asian markets buy your house. Mushrooms, green onions, kale and w/e leftover meat there is. I really mine on though, I like a lot of veggies with my noodles.

Boil the egg for six minutes, put it in an ice bath, then peel it. You get one of those ramen eggs with the gooey center. Make two or three and put them in a bag with soy sauce and refrigerate to get those brown looking ones. Take it out the bag when you want it, cut it in half, and put it on top of the soup. The broth with warm it up in a minute.
