    That's part of why I said old houses can be interesting, after turning off what I thought was the right breaker, I now do voltage checks on everything. But if your house is newer, less worries.

    If you have any kind of home repair skills beyond changing a light switch cover, you should be able to do it. I tend to turn off the electricity to the whole house when I do stuff like that, but most people just need to flip off that one breaker. If you are replacing an old one, or putting it where a light already exists, it should be "easy"

    1910 here, my first lighting upgrade, I had to remove the gas pipes (from old gas lighting) from the ceiling in order to upgrade the box so it could hold my new light. New one was too deep and hit the pipe. :emoji_rolling_eyes:
