Got a rejection on that hour damn long hit from the other day "*HETEROSEXUAL AMERICAN MEN AGES 18-45 ONLY*. Perceptions of Photographs and Personality(45-90 mins)"

"The reason for the rejection of this work: the worker gave the wrong answer for 1 out of 3 of the attention check questions. The answer to the third attention check question was 0 and he/she responded with 2 instead. Therefore, I unfortunately have to reject this work."

I think given how mind numbing it was, it's quite unfair to reject for a singular failed attention check out of multiple hundreds of radio button lines....

Edit: Since talked with her, seems like she's overturning it, had a really great exchange actually. I always assume the worst when I have to contact a requester, but this was a pleasant surprise. I updated communication on the review, and will update the status once it's overturned.

Best practice would have been to terminate the survey right there, but rejecting it is still in the realm of fair.

I'm sure it stings, but that's the entire point of ACs.

Within rights, sure, and normally I wouldn't care, but after an hour+ long hit, and such high value, I'm prepared to go down swinging considering it was a singular failed check of three, and it was in fact done with careful attention, it just had cumbersome formatting in my opinion, but that is subjective.

 

Oh good- it's not just me- I get burnt out every year at the end of summer and I don't want to work for some reason. I need the money but my mind does not want to think unless it's to play games. This was the week I was going to get serious again and I haven't. Nice to know there are others who are slacking lately. But, I don't have a job besides internet platforms, so really bad for me.
