02/27 - Money Monday!

I also have the added issue of looking like a biker. So...it's hard for me to get hired at regular jobs.

 

While it isn't glamours and wouldn't be full time, might I suggest trying Home Depot/Lowes? They really need people from Memorial Day to Labor Day as seasonal workers. Up in CT, cashiers would get started around 9.50 an hour 4 years ago. They need all sorts of people. You could get a job watering their flowers from 5am - 10am and be done and then still be able to turk most of the day and/or have a life (I highly recommend that job, it's the most guaranteed hours they offer) But while most retail slows down during the summer, that's when any place with a home improvement/garden section picks up. I've worked Home Depot summers for 3 or 4 years. It's not awful.

but you'd have to apply around march to april, and just let them know when you can start.

Wow. Thanks. I'm not too good for any kind of work. I'll check it out for sure. I really just have to survive the summer, and this is the last one before I can start actually making money teaching.

I think between a part time gig at a home depot/lowes/ace hardware kind of place and turking the rest of the time, you'd be able to survive. And hey, while you'll have to work on labor day, memorial day, and july 4th, chances are they'll feed you, so free lunch!

If you can open a box and put stuff in the box on a shelf, you can work at home depot. Gone are the days where the employees have to actually know anything. And if you want to learn stuff like that, they do have decent training. They mostly just need bodies that can look at the Home Depot App on their phone and say, "oh you're looking for this, let me walk you too it" and then follow the directions on the app.

right now i have too many keyboards and synthesizers to take care of tho...but now i am pretty certain i want a daughter.

Yeah....I've got two nephews...and now a raging case of baby fever. They make it contagious.

For gifts, follow the age suggestions on the boxes, they ALL have one somewhere. it's based on what they won't manage to kill themselves with and it's super important (my 7-month-old nephew managed to get his entire pacifier in his mouth while his mom was driving and started choking but thankfully they have holes in them for that exact reason), so always follow the ages on the toys. And if it makes noise, make sure it has an off button, your sister will thank you (until the kid figures it out, but hey, you tried).

 

I used to have 2 requirements for my computer. 1) run my sims and 2) get me on facebook.

Now that I'm actually relying on it for money (and the fact that it's failing at requirement 1 atm) I'm finding I didn't know as much as I thought I did, and that apparently 28 is too late to start learning it. So I'm just doing the best I can. Why would you say it's better? I only ever really use it to unpackage downloaded game files.
