I really & truly want one of those "I study MTurk" professors to do a study on the psych differences between surveys with/without progress bars & with/without TO/TV scores. I swear it makes a difference going in blind AF to a no TV req w/ no progress bar or mention of a timer in how I perceive the study

 

This is about the cold war yes, but thru the lens of a cold war era chess tournament between an american and soviet grandmaster.

They reference all the fun things about bangkok, but the character is also HIGHLY dismissive of it. The chorus is extolling the virtues of Bangkok, while the american is shitting on it and talking about how the "muddy old river," is less interesting than chess and how it's a " crowded, polluted, stinking town." He even mocks the idea of the sexual tourism by proclaiming, "I get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine." It was so sarcastic that thailand has banned it from being played as it's considered disrespectful to Buddhism. There are a ton of jibes in that song, meant to be dismissive and rude.
