Oh I am VERY serious (this is what separates the high-level think tanks from how turkers like you think.)

2FA does NOT add at most a "few extra seconds" to your login. Adding 2FA to the login stack on mobile requires switching to SMS, switching back to mobile browser, submitting (and this is after pw entry), navigating back 2 MORE pages (because MTurk auto-displays "No HITs available" even if untrue when funneled from a logged out state) just to tap the Panda link 30-60 seconds later just to hope the Panda is still alive? Really?

P.S. those 12-hour logouts are irrelevant to the primary benefits of not using 2FA for MTurk. There's a reason it's disabled by default...

2fa helps keep you a lot more secure and like I've told some people, just because you've been okay so far skimping on what should be a security basic, doesn't mean you'll always manage to get by without security. Yeah it *maybe* slow you down having 2fa by like 15 seconds and occasionally typing in a password might cost you five cents because you can't focus, but it's way better than getting your account hijacked and people completely clearing your coffers and ruining everything, especially if you have master's. Amazon accounts are a very delicious target because you can get a lot of personal information, including some banking, and if they're not a complete idiot they'll go and empty out your Payments account by using a dummy bank account. I've rarely had to put in 2fa because I'm on the same laptop and my IP doesn't change frequently, and having a rare little annoyance I feel is way better than potentially losing a lot of money and progress because you gotta get that extra penny in. I mean, come on, at least try to make yourself look like a little less of a good target.

I can't recall the last time I've gotten logged out when I was trying to catch something, but I'm just not on your level /s. Stop giving people shitty advice like loosening their security because you don't have the forethought to keep track of your login timers

2-step isn't for mobile. You can USE your mobile for the 2-step auth.

 

There's some programs that you can use for authentication, though I'm not sure what some good ones are
