Sometimes I just have to wait for the squirrels or the random cat to heck off before I can even open the door because just rattling it as if I'm about to open it doesn't phase them and they want to chase each other without fear of dog in them. Though chasing squirrels is fine since squirrels rarely leave the yard, god forbid he sees a cat, though.

Poor Frank thinks he will catch a jackrabbit one day. Oh, honey, no. I worry with Skeet, just cause catahoulas have bonkers prey drive and he occasionally outsmarts animals, but Frank the tank is just delightfully derpy and does not understand how animals work. I'm 90% sure he may just wanna be best friends with the rabbits tbh.

 

I've noticed, I see a lot more surveys now.

 

My sister's dog once actually caught a bird and she had no idea what to do with the poor thing. It didn't flee fast enough. She also once ran off with some deer that were chillin' in my neighbor's yard. I think my dog might just want to be friends with everything too, though. Thankfully he's never actually caught anything.

 

You are using something like hit forker to find work and panda crazy to panda it right? You won't have much luck accepting from stuff directly on the forum most of the time as stuff is long gone by the time we review it ect.

Do you guys have wild dogs or mountain lions up there? I'm always worried about that when I take my dogs hiking. The coyotes around here are small, but the mountain lions are huge. I'd probably have to shoot it or one of my idiot dogs would try to fight it.

 

i think the guns that are legal in california would just piss off a mountain lion more than anything

 

or hydrate, they get thirsty too you know.

 

Apparently putting bells on your dogs collar and making lots of noise in general can help scare off wild animals.

 

We have mountain lions and boars ...and bears in some of the areas. I don't let Skeet off leash on those trails cause he would just find himself a mountain lion. I'm always super careful to look around myself a lot (and I'm noisy AF), cause mountain lions are ambush predators and the chances of one trying to maul me on a fairly active trail isn't likely unless it thinks I'm unaware of being stalked.
