All controlled substances violations are both state and federal. There's nothing preventing the federal government from preferring a charge any time up to five years following the last date of offense, or potentially forever as they could presumably tack a conspiracy charge on any drug related case and claim that because the seller was still engaging in sales there was a continuance every time the seller made a sale.

I mean, look, I wish it* were legal. In college I was drugged by a friend in a misguided attempt to help me with my migraines, and it's the only thing I've ever tried that has brought any relief.

You can get a prescription. It's legal if you have a prescription or something like that.
