The totals divided by member count do not match the averages because some members did not report all information and the averages account for this.

This sucks, it seems like every time I really find something decent on MTurk they stop being posted.

Some stop posting while others pause for a while before posting more HITs. Requesters come and go.
Think of it as getting a new supervisor every once in a while and adjusting to his work requirements. You adapt. Consider yourself in a position where you are expected to constantly learn and adapt. I've had that kind of job before. Sometimes I was glad when my supervisor changed. lol :)

Decent batches are a myth. The cake is a lie.

    LOVING the Portal reference!

I'm French though, so, the cake I usually think of is the kind Marie Antoinette lost her head over. Plenty of that kind of cake going around Mechanical Turk.

All jokes aside, there are some, not many, good batches on Mechanical Turk, some require Masters, some require closed quals or qual tests, some you can get the quals for just by requesting them, some you need the right demographics for, and many other possible factors that determine whether or not you see them, such as the fact that they may not post daily or weekly, etc...Just look for qualification tests whenever you can find them, and take them, eventually you'll find something useful, but don't expect this to be like getting a job and think it will be permanent. Requesters, come, and go, so you need to be taking qualifications tests and searching for good requesters and HITs regularly.

I do but have been largely unsuccessful. Of the 3 best I've found, 2 were suggested on here so I gotta say I definitely appreciate that. But of these 3, presently 0 are posting and have not been for an extended period.

One more suggestion, if I may. Don't put all your eggs in one basket and don't rely only on batches. Diversify.

Rowan and Picolang were suggested on here. Noah I was encouraged to avoid but I actually did very well with it.

I haven't been but I'm presently stuck choosing between very few available surveys and reject happy requesters who pay 0.01 per.

I actually sit here a few times a week and go through all 30+/- pages of HITs looking for any quals I can take, but I don't often find any.

Weekends and holidays, keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed. Rowan was good while he lasted but he's done. Picolang is new and good only if nothing better paying is available. Noah is Turk at your own risk. I made good money with him but I choose the HITs I do with him carefully.
