Just a couple of months. I printed off my weekly earnings report and wrote them a note. Should be fine. Thanks for the info.

 

The income based repayment for student loans isn't looking at stable income though. They don't care how long you've been doing it. In fact, they encourage you to update it every time your income changes significantly and you have to re-submit your info every year.
That said, I recently redid my income based information because I was working for a real organization with a real salary, and now I'm driving Uber and doing Mturk. Basically what I had to do was submit one of my earnings statements from uber, give them the time frame for that statement and write a letter certifying that I'm driving for my only source of income. I had zero problems and got a zero payment.
