Lots of my friends do this, too. We are now older, so most of us have all the things we need and might be on second marriages.

I happily give cash for the honeymoon. Much easier than having to actually go get a gift, lol.

My husband and I had a similar problem. We lived together well before getting married and were about to move overseas where we couldn't take a lot with us. So what we did was ask for a bit of money to go towards our honeymoon/moving expenses when the time came. Most people were fine with it but of course you'll always have a few folks who either think its rude or are just old fashioned and don't consider money to be a gift. But it did cut down on the amount of things we had to worry about getting overseas substancially and the gifts we did get were less 'household items' and more a nice bottle of champagne, books they thought we would enjoy etc. along with a decent pot of spending money for our week in Sweden.

Did get a creepy looking faceless 'fertility statue' figurine from one of his uncles but I feel like that wasn't gonna be avoided no matter what we asked for!

UGHH we've had people ask what we were doing for our honeymoon too but once we said we didn't have one planned yet they asked for the registry. Fiance's vacation time doesn't renew until ~February/March so we aren't bothering with plans yet. I am just now realizing how that's not far off and we should have been planning it all along. We don't know what we're doing in life, obviously.

 

Anyone actually found a tank yet?
