If you guys have never force fed a sick and cranky, once very feral cat before- it's sorta like trying to feed a floppy, vaguely aggro bag of razors that doesn't adhere to the laws of physics and will either spit formula back on you in a rage or near choke on it from sheer determination to not drink it before reflexively swallowing and resigning himself to his fate- and then you start all over again.

For a cat so sapped of energy, he sure has some fight in him left to resist hydration. And then I move onto the next cat in line and die a little bit inside while I try not to snot my cold ridden sinuses all over one of them.

 

mr. scraggles is so happy he found you, he is just full of nonsense.

Scraggles, Bearnie, and Porgy now! Apparently, when the vet told me that scrags didn’t have anything contagious or viral (outside of the ear mites which are already gone on all counts) and that he could fully socialize with the other cats, what she meant was, “ JK! HE’S GONNA SNEEZE HIS LITTLE GERMS ON EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING AND YOU’LL SPEND DAYS TAKING CARE OF THEM AND CURSING THE FACT 2 DIFFERENT VETS TOLD YOU IT WASN’T CONTAGIOUS !”

Scrags is mostly better albeit tired a lot, Porgy is still cranky and tired but rebounding now that he’s been pumped full of steroids, and Bearnie started getting cranky and tired today and my vet is gonna give me a comped appointment for Bearn since she missed typhoid scrag (as did the second vet who saw Porg). Luckily, it’s basically the cat flu incident of 2018 and nobody is having any serious complications outside of feeling gross and deciding that spitting cat formula on mom is an appropriate way to thank her for taking care of their furry asses.

RIP my wallet tho- it just burst into flames.

Merry Christmas everyone- you can all take turns getting dropper fed cat formula by me or taking the steroid of your choice. Please don’t spit on me.
