are you guys all just magical half-elves that live on the edge of the woods and make baked goods all day? the amount of treat-related posting today is making me realize how much I'm lacking in my life.

I could do something like that for Matt, tho! I'll bookmark that idea the next time I wanna make something special for Matt, thanks for the idea! I've been fixating on carmelized candied peanuts in a whipped chocolate marscapone filling, encased in a salted caramel chocolate shell or something like that for the last 5 minutes tho

 

The IGA here is awesome, there could be 3 people in the store and still two registers open, and two bag boys waiting to carry your stuff to your car,
Also many employees on the floor that will go out of your way to help you find something, I can't knock it

I also have like 0 self restraint when it comes to cooking for people and @Buntastic witnessed the series of spectacular meltdowns I had prepping all that food, before I got so amped on red bull and cold meds that I couldn't sleep last night until I finally fell asleep, face first with the cats this afternoon.

 

That being said, what passes for a Baguette in there, well, you understand

 

Sometimes I get this craving around 11 PM; and I just have to drive to the store, buy a cake, and eat almost the whole thing.

 

Don't downplay your dessert just because Nabisco helped you out a little.

 

Oh gosh, don't do that to yourself, cooking is supposed to be fun, not stressful
Just give them a bologna sandwich if it comes to that, and they still better say "Thank You"

 

I haven't had banana pudding since I was in middle school. I really want some banana pudding.

 

You. COULD NOT. PAY ME. TO TOUCH. WHATEVER. THAT. EVEN. WAS. I heard the word egg nog and box and I was immediately ready to burn it down. And she literally shoved my food out of the way and stuck it there before I moved it to the back. I think it ended up in my garage tbh. I saw one of my friends go distract her while the other went over to my table, and then I never saw it again.

 

Lmao did you specifically ask her not to bring this because it was egg nog?

 

When I bake bread I don't mill the flour or collect the salt from the ocean either, so what?

Oh! Don't get me wrong, it was totally worth it! It just got stressful because I came down with a cold and 3 of the cats were sick and needed feeding and medicating and vet visits this week, which all ran into my prep work.

I was a little stressed just from the magnitude of things and bad timing, but once it all came together, it was fantastic. I was so happy! I'm still riding a hostess high.
