That's not what the instructions said. They said skip all numbers. When I gave them examples where there were numbers in a large block of text where taking out the numbers would leave with "to to by the" they said skip the whole thing.

 

In an email reply from the requester's assistant. I emailed him and he had her answer me. I gave her that example when asking because that was an actual ad I had and she said to include the numbers in that instance but spell them out.

they should probably put that in the instructions because the instructions just flat out say no numbers.

 

Here is the direct quote from the email:

I am Jason's research assistant and he asked me to answer some questions ab out the HITs. First, you are correct when we say no numbers, we refer to phone numbers and addresses primarily. You can just omit those altogether. However, numbers that appear in the text may be written out (i.e. 1 to one) if necessary for the ad. The example of the domestic ad you mentioned earlier is perfect for this. You can just write out the 4 and 3 and that would be fine. You can omit all other numbers, such as prices, wages, or interview times.
