A whole lotta cooking
Roasting Pork with red potatoes butter and herbs, corn on the cob, brussel sprouts, asparagus, peas, and prepping salad
Baking corn bread, brownies (will be served warm with vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate syrup) because my daughter dislikes pie
There will be pecan pie if I have energy I'll make it otherwise I'll ask hubby to buy it (for the adults)
No turkey this year thank the merciful heavens!!!!
Friends are coming over to eat and get wasted on beer and wine while I slave away. Wasn't planning to do anything this year but given how events turned, we decided to have a little fun to keep spirits high.

Honestly, it never gets easier but I was very prepared for the possibility and my husband was very supportive. I am also very blessed to have such a beautiful little girl who brightens even the darkest day with her perfect personality and daily I love yous. Also, I'm a pretty tough cookie. This miscarriage won't break me.

I get to drink now so there's that too!

 

it's amazing that you can turn something like that into gratitude for everything else, i really admire that. i'm sure it'll be difficult, i didn't mean to downplay it at all, but it's awesome to see you standing tall and letting yourself have fun. i'll be thinking of you and your family, and the little one that couldn't join. <3

 

It's the third time which is why we were ready for the possibility. I also went through my grieving period and put it behind me. I mean, I think about it now and then, but I prefer to look forward rather than backwards. It isn't healthy to linger on maybes.

my best friend had multiple miscarriages as well, and has 4 beautiful, healthy girls. you mamas are a special breed of strength and badassness. i'm glad you'll kick back with friends and enjoy your beautiful family for christmas, you all deserve it
