Think I need to do some more reading before figuring out which requester is best to do a batch for. Just don't trust myself putting a lot of eggs in one basket!

Just wait for Amazon Requester batches. Hard to mess up and get rejected unless you are really not doing them right. They dont pay exceptionally well, but when a batch drops, you could grab thousands if you have the determination. Usually a few times a month. Just keep your numbers up for now with a strong approval rating.

I think im gonna head to the gym. I like coming back to this forum after a couple hours to see where things have progressed. If we've already covered boobs today, I cannot wait for whats next.

 

Do you have the dashboard enhancer script that shows # of rejects you can take before going below 99%? First rule is to never risk more than that unless you're INCREDIBLY sure its safe (CIs, etc or have contacted the requester).

Fashion HITs are the devil, they often pay decent->well but you will eat rejections on them and they will almost never overturn >.>

Quals are the best indicator when judging batches you can't communicate w/ the req on:

No quals = rejections likely b/c they're going to get crap data & be pissed about it
Masters only = rejections all but guaranteed unless one of the default templates (I'm kidding here a bit, but it generally shows the requester has no freaking clue how to use MTurk properly & they just used the default project template and prayed for good results... which they likely wont get).
Quals are: Location: US/UK/AU/NZ/CA, Approved >5000, Approval % >98%: As safe as you can get w/o communication/history. Even if they get booty data this requester already knows what they're doing & what to expect out of MTurk.

Lots of nuance in the above, but hopefully helps w/ some of the thought process lol.

This is probably too jokey to be considered advice, what I should say is this:

If you're working on HITs that are asking you to do something that requires industry/topic specific knowledge, and you don't know anything about that industry/topic, you can probably expect that even with your best effort some (or all) of your data is going to be poor (from the requesters POV).

Since MTurk doesn't pay for your time, it pays for your data quality, its pretty much one of those situations where you shouldn't be surprised if you eat rejections over it.

For me, that's fashion HITs. For someone else it might be finding e-mails or w/e the case may be.

 

You could have learned how to read korean in that time.
