Ok So I popped the question.
I asked the girlfriend if she'll buy me chilis. I told her it's my New Years Resolution and I've never had it.

She said "It's too expensive for you."
So I said, "yeah i know, that's why I'm asking you to buy it."
She said "Only if we eat INSIDE there and dine IN"
Also made it clear that I can't embarrass her if I want her to buy it.

So I think I'm getting chilis.
Not today, but I think maybe soon or at least some time in 2019
