    Not on my taxes, but when I was in college, my FAFSA got audited the year my dad retired. It can happen.

    Not me personally but I've had a friend get audited. I obviously don't know the details of his finances but I know he said it was the worst thing he's ever had to deal with since burden of proof is on you usually.

    I heard some red flags are if you are depreciating things without income. Too many years of that can get your audited. Or taking losses with no income. Essentially what you are saying is you are lowering your tax liability without just cause. I always go back to a file i worked on. Woman was a "dog breeder" on her Sch C. no income, but damn near 30-60k worth of deductions and expenses ranging from car payments, to meals and travel. Again, let me remind you, NO Income. I cannot speak for her being audited, but I can state, stuff like that is a HUGE red flag since the government isnt getting thier cut.

    Accounting major here no, but Schedule C filers make up more then 80% of the audited. Breathe, call your tax professional and gather your paperwork.

    I mean, I was only teasing about that one, but yeah...I always have at least one mturk program up on my computer anytime I'm running it, the other stuff if just background while I wait for the work. So I'm considering it 95%... it does get super grey though. I turk from my bedroom... is that an office? If I purchase some extra pillows to prop up my back, is that a deduction? If I buy a new mattress for comfier turking, does that count? Larger speakers to be able to hear "Never take presents" from another room? Can I deduct the 50% of the internet that I use for mturk?? Should that deduction be based on gigs of data used or hours spent? SUPER GREY
