Okay. Now I just gotta figure out what size fan is in this computer, lol.

Thanks for all the help guys! Last time I worked on a computer was in the 90s when I built my own from scratch.

of course I get home for lunch today and he said the fan has been perfect all day long. No issues at all. Still going to blow out the dust and see if that helps and maybe just go ahead and order a back up since they aren't that spendy.

As others have mentioned, you could get a replacement fan. Noctua is great, but runs at a premium over others starting around $20. I'd also identify if the fan is 120mm or 140mm as that will be required information if you replace it. Another option, as you said there are 4 fans running, is to remove a fan. For many cases, you don't need to load it to its capacity with fans. You just want positive air pressure, or at least neutral. Positive air pressure occurs when you have more air coming in to the case than exiting. Negative air pressure causes an increase in the dust in the case which is detrimental to the longevity and operation of your components.

So, let's say you have 4x 120mm fans. 2 for intake, 2 for exhaust. Change the configuration such that the faulty fan is removed and there are 2 intake, 1 exhaust. If you do 1 exhaust, it's always going to be the one at the top-rear near the I/O shield.

I have a bunch of leftover LEDs from my dream catcher, I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with them yet, though. Also, how can you hate these when you're a sunflower? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CFGL24Y/?tag=thtv02-20

The Noctua was a meme suggestion. I wouldn't suggest that as a replacement even if that is what I would use for myself.

Okay, I take it back I LOVE LEDS in random places; flower pots, banisters, closets. I hate them in my computer. A nice way to light up a little garden is the put little Leds in strings around them or inside cute little houses. [IMG] Things like that can be home made and I love doing little things in my plants.

Having some 120mm fans is always useful just incase one dies you can swap it out without waiting for a replacement.

I keep saying 120mm as that is the most common size to my knowledge.

120mm is extremely common, especially on lower-end cases. However, sometimes the manufacturer or the consumer will stick a 140mm (or two) up top.
