I'm just gunna order a 120 mm. If it's the wrong size I'll send it back, lol.

Well, that's after I blow the dust out of the whole unit It looks kinda dusty. Maybe that will fix it. I tried looking up the computer and can't find the specs on the fan size, but it sounds like 120 seems the best.

or I can take it out of the case and walk into Best Buy and get a replacement I bet.

This is the ONLY time I'm doing this for kiddo. After this he has to figure it out on his own. When I suggested this to him he said, "Just take it in to Geek Squad, Mom. I have money. I'll just pay them to fix it." But I want to show him how EASY it is to do. I think he knows this, I think he's just being lazy. (And he has money so...)

Definitely way too easy a job to pay someone for. Hell, assembling the entire PC is too easy a job to pay for. (Some cases will piss you the hell off with those holes they drilled for the standoffs, though.)

If the upper rear fan is the one you suspect, I almost guarantee it's 120mm. I don't think I've ever seen one there that's 140mm.

I've seen cases that support 140mm in the back but I doubt that the kid went out of his way to do that.

 

You know that newegg sucks now right? It is sad but I strongly suggest NOT buying stuff from them now.

yeah, he's doing this fix himself. That was the deal when I let him buy it. He had to do all the upgrades himself. But now that he makes money he's being rich man lazy about it, lol. I just spoke to him about it and he's willing to fix it and says it does not need an LED so...gunna try and blow it out and if that doesn't fix it then ordering one of the fans one you guys linked.
