We went back to the data and here it shows that you took 52 seconds to
complete the survey.
Our pretest showed that it would take about 90 seconds to complete it,
so we set the cutoff at 60 seconds.
We have already ended the study, so retaking it is not possible at this
moment. But I will talk to my colleague who ran the study to possibly
reverse the rejection. I don't know whether this is possible though.

Thank you for your response. I hope that you can reverse the rejections, as they are very serious to workers and prevent us from completing future work. I would be happy to send you links on how rejections can be reversed, if you are having difficulty doing so on the Amazon platform.

On behalf of any future studies and any future workers that may be impacted by unnecessary rejections, I would politely suggest that you run a "pretest" with experienced turkers to get an accurate time expectation. I have completed over 100,000 studies on Mturk and therefore am much faster than your average university student, but no less diligent. Placing arbitrary time cutoffs means that workers will purposefully "stall" or be distracted during your study to ensure they meet the time requirements, which potentially harms your data, and due to the short timer on your study, many of us failed to "stall" so that would be sure to submit the study before it expired. I would ask that you politely manually review my data, and you will see that it was completed diligently by a human, with consistent and thoughtful answers. Rejecting such work due to an arbitrary time constriction is quite unfair and leads to the unsubstantiated fear of "robots" which has negatively affected the Mturk community. If the only difference between acceptable and unacceptable data is 8 seconds, than we are all reduced to nothing more than robots.
