Haven’t done elk or venison but great for duck. Just season and give it a quick hot sear on fat side only when done. I find it better to make any sauces for the duck separately instead of cooking it in it but that is just because I love the taste of duck and want to taste it separately from any sauce or topping

 

Find one. It's usually held in a bar(hopefully), and you run around putting bids on meat. There was a guy with 10 colored sticks in his hand. Youd run up there with a dollar every 10 minutes to grab one. If you got one, awesome. They would then spin a wheel with a corresponding number and if the wheel landed on the stick with that number, you'd get whatever meat was being won.

There were also drawings where you buy tickets and those were super frequent as well.

SO MUCH MEAT. We ended up with 5 chicken, 4 packages of bacon, a pack of sausage, and a few other smaller meat things. I encourage everybody to try to find one.

I recently split a half pig and and quarter cow with a friend, so my freezer is full of cool stuff to experiment with. I agree, the temperature is one thing, but snow covering everything makes it more challenging

I have a small gas weber that i use in the winter time. I keep it right outside the front door so I dont really have to go outside to grill. I keep the big grill in the garage.
