can't be done a 2nd time today. I just tried. but if you haven't done this yet, some people have gotten a good bonus. time for a power nap because I ate so much dinner!

I couldn't even convince her to buy cereal. "That's not breakfast!" She would say.
Her Idea of a school lunch was a fruit and a sandwich. And I was fine with that. My daughter is very picky and I try to expose her to a variety of foods so she doesn't turn into a meat and potatoes person like her dad. Banana, apple, orange wedges, bite size cucumbers or carrots or celery with peanut butter. Granola bars. Milk, fruit juices. Sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, Chicken, turkey, tuna, even sushi rolls. Rice pilaf. Simple pasta salad. They have these neat cooler type lunch boxes now. I just slip in the frozen thing and it stays fresh and cool all day.

 

time for a 1 hour power nap. gordon ramsey has some kind of show on. food, yelling, gordon ramsey, good power nap show.

 

Our mom tried her best, but honestly if you suggested that sort of thing to her she would be like "that's doing too much, you better be damn happy with what you got." etc. Also probably would've been called "uppity." A lot of the things that I was told was "uppity" as a child seem perfectly normal to me, now, though.

 

my dad sent me to school with a baggie of olives. it's okay I still like olives. and my dad. okay going to sleep for real now.

 

A cucumber, a carrot a banana, an apple, a sandwich...granola bar..perfectly normal things to have for lunch.

The sushi roll is just something I do when she asks for it especially and she's sick of sandwiches, and I do it on rare occasion because I need my beauty rest too. Although a roll is really quick and easy to make. As long as the rice is cooked it takes five minutes to put together.

 

Meanwhile, I feel ripped off that people's parents made them lunch at all I made a mean ham and cheese on a potato roll, side of dunkaroos if we were feeling rich that week.

 

To be clear, I WISH my mom allowed me to have cereal for breakfast and a bag of chips for lunch! lol
I was the kid telling her all my friends were doing it. I had the fried egg or tuna sandwiches and a thermos full of milk or juice. and a banana or an apple. The egg was always cold.

 

Yeah. When I turned about 10 she forgot about my school lunches. I made them myself too. But it was part of growing up I assumed.

 

I had a housekey when I was 6 and I rarely saw the rents as I only lived with my dad at that point and mom was off with her new boyfriend in atlantic city or whatever the shit she was doing at the time. I wouldn't call it growing up so much as a lack of parental involvement lol.

I typed out a totally funny story about cereal and me as a kid, but then realized it would straight up traumatize some people cause most of what I think are normal childhood stories are usually totally horrifying to everyone else.
