    can't he just make the hit have a qual that is only assigned to your mturk id so it's not possible for anyone else to accept it? if it's a custom qual, I think it's free for him to set up but not sure.

    This. He should be able to assign you a qual and then put a hit up using that qual. Putting it in the title doesn't work, you need to have a qual.

    Without the qual, best way is for him to make the hit $0.00 or $0.01 and send the rest via bonus. People generally won't accept those.
