I just updated my TO review to reflect the rejection. I emailed the requester and offered to show them my drivers license. lol. I would suggest you pop into TO and update it to show the rejection. I assume its an error on thier end, but still something to be worried about. based on the green TO scores, this isnt common, so I hope it changes.

 

IRB is short for 'Institutional Review Board' - its a group at the university that oversees the ethics of research & makes sure research subjects aren't abused/blah blah blah.

Anytime you see a survey w/ one of those long winded consent forms, its usually under IRB supervision & a good indication its relatively safe from rejections as they:

1) rarely reject to begin with
2) have a chain of command you can climb up to have the rejection overturned in the rare case it does get rejected

Occasionally you'll find an IRB who wont help, but its relatively rare for US institutions.

Do good work, be careful for whom you work, communicate with requesters, and just be generally smart about stuff and there's a fairly low chance of that happening. There's some luck involved, but I've been good for 3.5 years.
