i wouldn't say 100k is mutually exclusive with "hardly ever doing surveys." i have 212k which is obviously a lot of batches, but i have done my fair share of surveys. enough so that i'd say if someone didn't want an "experienced survey taker", they should screen me out.

by screening out everyone over 100k, they're only saying they don't want someone who does this as a "job", or has done this a long time. which is still just as flawed, just a tad less so and the only recourse they have for getting what they want.

 

I didn't review the hit, because my morning coffee brain didn't want to remember how to combine a bunch of probabilities so I didn't have an accurate time, but they had this in the survey. Nice to see someone do some research and not complain about bots.

Note that we are not concerned about bots (we very much believe that close to all participants are human), but during the past week, more than 20% of Turkers who passed the MTurk location filter (US) were indeed located outside the US. Most of them failed the question asked before, pasted random responses from websites or gave very cryptic answers .

 

I wonder if there is a statistically significant correlation between blood types and turking activity

 

I didn't touch the 5s. I worked on the 8s that were posted early this morning. I caught them when they first posted. The most I saw were about 17000. and I worked on them until they were gone. But the number was a typo.
Weird how the correction I typed in the first edit didn't show up but somehow someone managed to quote a post with the first wrong post without the correction but with the third message included where I remove the first one. Now that's hacking. Also really confusing

Newbie with a quick question. Has anyone worked on the Computer Vision Turk boundary tracing? I did one this a.m then told I am basically soft banned! I looked at the examples countless times and I am doing better one some of them than the good examples they gave. I am so lost and wondering if it is even worth it to email them about it.

I just got soft banned earlier this morning as well. I am super god damn meticulous. I don't have much in way of an answer, but I think I am in the same boat as you.

 

Can somebody explain they hype behind the computer vision hits? I've done maybe 3 or 4 of them and they all seem to take far, FAR too long to complete. I don't understand how some people are finishing the entire task in like 3 or 4 minutes haha.
