Well, at least I see I am not the only detailed person who got the message. I don't get it but I'll suck it up for now and do something else with my free time. I was happy they were even available on a Sunday morning but whomp whomp.

Those are Noahs if I recall, and Noahs are risky. They love to block.

 

Nope, they're usually terrible but yesterday I made 15$.

 

You won't find that hype for them around here, but if you're talking reddit then I imagine that it's because they have a high $ amount per hit for batch work and there are a lot of them posted. I read more than one person over there arguing that the hourly of a hit doesn't matter it's just the $ amount of the hit that's important. It's a really weird and unprofitable attitude to have.

 

Is there any other browser the Reks actually work in?

 

They do get easier over time and I learned here somewhere that you can reload the page for a fresh batch (you do lose

what you already worked on). I have had some that do take me a bit longer to do though. If you can get the hang of it then .60 a pop can add up quickly.

Not sure what Noah's are but I see how risky it really is. Terrible idea for them to free block like that when we know if we did quality or not. Plus honestly, some of those damn things are impossible to get 100% accurate on.

edit: for the record I did 4 today and got softbanned, previously 5 in the last week. no data before then.

 

Sorry for the break in the reply. I'm learning how to do this as I go lol. Also, I agree about the hourly being what counts but since I am newer I don't always have the greatest stuff available to me. Plus the tracing ones don't require my well-meaning but very loud children to let me concentrate.

I am curious whether it is related to the rate at which you submit, primarily. We can't really ascertain how many submissions are "acceptable" to the requester, but we can see how many are submitted by one worker in one time period and whether that seems correlated.

 

I didn't mean to sound dismissive you can certainly get those into minimum wage range if you get good at them. I'd probably consider them for filler if it weren't for the blocks. I think my analysis of why people seem get all hyped up about them holds though.

the requester was previously named Noah, so everyone still calls them "Noahs". they've been block happy since their appearance on mturk, usually without rhyme or reason, and varying levels of response. some people can do a lot, some people can do one.

anecdotally, the first hit i ever did for him (over a year ago) was rejected instantaneously and i was blocked. after an email, they replied and said something on their side went wrong, they can't fix it, but they bonused me the pay instead and unblocked me. i was able to do more of their hits without issue, but since many people mention seemingly random blocks, it's pretty risky, as blocks can harm a worker's account.
