My day job is as a software product manager. I work closely with a team of developers and QA professionals, and one of the most oft-heard expressions from a developer is "it works fine on my machine".

• I'm sure it does.
• It doesn't on this particular customer's machine.
• Oh look, it also doesn't work on my machine.
• Point #3 isn't such a big deal, but it means I can reproduce it.
• And point #2 is a big deal.
• So point #1 IS UNCONVINCING!
• "But look, it still works fine on my machine".
• ...
• Repeat.
