I've seen it a few times when the requester shockedpikachuface'd a study not understanding Turkers had seen it 8000000 times already, but its pretty rare. I'm usually honest in the "have you done this already / do you know whats up / should we discard your data" stuff and haven't gotten rejected for it yet.

 

i was only half-assed paying attention to the conversation because i'm thinking about books, but from what i gather, i think the only issue is that chris and the rest of the TV crew, as well as people who contribute, put in a lot of hard work to make it legitimate. those things might have happened in the past on other platforms (or anything with reviews in the history of reviews, really), but TV is heavily monitored and scrutinized to make sure it's top-notch. some people come here to cherrypick conversations to take accusations as gospel, so it's dangerous to let something like that sit out there without defending it because of all the hard work that goes into making sure that very thing doesn't happen.
